Pour Me Another
Really? I get to do this?
I’m the proverbial “kid in the candy store” these days, only this candy is for the 21 and over crowd. For the last several months, I’ve been involved in helping to create and refine a new show about wine. And let me tell you, it’s been a blast.

The first episodes of Virtual Vino Live have made a debut, and I can tell you that a lot of work has gone into making sure you’ll enjoy the experience.
I remember when Blaine Millet (our director and the brainchild of Virtual Vino Live) first called me and shared the idea for the show. I was a fan immediately. Not only do I enjoy wine, but I enjoyed the idea of being involved in a medium where you can learn about wines, get great deals on said wine, and help local charities at the same time.
He asked me to write a blog post, and specifically said “Tell our viewers if your opinion about the show has changed.”
It has.
Mind you, I was excited from day one, but now that we’ve worked through the first episode, I’m convinced this is going to be better than I had imagined. It’s so fun watching people who you know taste wines and give their recommendations. And the significance really hit me when I stopped by my neighborhood supermarket to pick out a bottle of wine.
I had no idea what to get. So, like many of you, I pick a cool label, and bring it home. As I was driving home I kept thinking “The more Virtual Vino Live shows we do, the more I’m going to learn about good wines in my price range. It could literally make the next trip to the store to buy wine a lot easier!
Honestly, I believe we accomplish this AND in a way that's accessible to anyone. The idea was to create a show about "Friends sitting around the table tasting wines and having a good time." No fancy production here, just a single camera, keeping it real. And no editing. When watching the show online it's obviously not happening at that moment, but it is "live" in a sense that what you see is exactly what happened. We tape the 25 minute episode as if it were live, flubs and all (I make a killer error in an upcoming episode and the cameras keep rolling!). This is part of the charm of the show...it's real, and it's really easy to learn about some great wines that are surprisingly inexpensive.
So I invite you to call your friends, have them over, and watch an episode of Virtual Vino Live together. I guarantee by the end of the show you’ll hear about some good wines, learn how to buy them at a discount, and help local charities with your purchase. All this, without the snooty wine guy looking at you like you’re crazy!
Check us out and let me know what you think.
